We have a comprehensive program in place administered by our associates in various locations.

The main locations for transplant surgery that we utilise, are the United Kingdom and The United States of America.

For living donor transplant surgery procedures, we are in a favourable postion to offer services in various countries at extremely affordable package prices.

Program Facilities

An essential component of this program is selective contracting with facilities and their staffs which are recognized nationally and internationally for excellence in the specific area of transplant medicine.

The primary components of this program are:

1. Rigorous credentialing of each facility for specific transplants, including but not limited to the demonstration of:
  • All necessary facilities, services, and staff
  • Clinical outcomes
  • Minimal complication rates
  • Numbers of procedures that provide significant and ongoing experience for the team

2. Only physicians affiliated with the facility that meet the contract defined credentialing process may provide care to Program patients. This process includes, but is not limited to the following:
  • Unrestricted license to practice medicine in the state of practice (facility state)
  • Active and unrestricted clinical privileges at the facility
  • Unrestricted prescribing privileges
  • Other requirements as agreed to by the facility as set forth in the contract

The Case Management Program

Prospective Review

A patient's case will be evaluated immediately by a Transplant Case Manager who will review the case to make recommendations as to where the patient should seek care and facilitate the process.

Concurrent Review

The Transplant Case Manager will monitor the patient's ongoing care for potential for discussion/clarification of the issues.

Retrospective Review

The overall performance of each facility will be measured and evaluated on an ongoing basis. We will review our own cases against the entire patient base at each facility. Each facility will be expected to provide information for this analysis. This may include, but is not limited to the following:
  • Total number of cases
  • Mortality rates
  • Morbidity rates
  • Infection rates
  • Long term survival rates
  • Returns to surgery
  • Other complications

Investigations and Actions

All potential quality issues identified by the program will be presented to the participating facility. The facility will be expected to review the issue through its internal quality assessment program and provide Interhealth with a written report documenting the investigation, findings, and corrective actions, if any.

Patient Satisfaction

The perception of quality by both the patients and their families is an important aspect of quality assessment by Interhealth's Transplant Surgery Program. These aspects will be monitored through surveys of patient satisfaction and reported back to our clients as aggregate statistics.
